French writer, humanist, and moralist who received the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1947, Andre Gide is mostly known for his psychological novels 'The Immoralist' and 'Strait is the Gate'. As well as being a distinguished Science Fiction writer, Brian Aldiss is also an important contemporary novelist, a poet, an essayist and a dramatist.
