"Aussichten" covers levels A1 to B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and brings learning German language to life using authentic characters that learners follow throughout the coursebooks. The story that runs through the units in the books covers situations from private, work and public life and is supplemented by a wealth of audio-material on the 2 CDs included with the book. Each unit ends with learning tips and an overview of the grammar points covered and an alphabetical word list.

The accompanying workbook includes an audio-CD and DVD offering a broad range of exercises for different types of learners with additional exercises that cover cultural and regional information. The "Integration spezial" focuses on real-life situations to help students manage everyday life in Germany but it is also a wonderful treasure trove of optional material for regional studies. The online teachers' books contain hints on using "Aussichten", tests for each unit and suggestions for using the DVD and "Integration spezial" in class.
