An attractive collection of short varied pieces for the Grade 0-1 player. Featuring music by Alan Haughton, Fiona Macardle, Alan Bullard, Pauline Hall (editor) and others, there is something to suit all tastes here. It is nicely presented, with amusing cartoon illustrations matching the titles of each piece, and helpful marks of expression and fingering. Faye Caley, Music Teacher, June 04 Pitched around the level of Piano Time 3, there is plenty of material to cover a considerable range of musical and technical points ... Ending with a lively duet, the collection contains some attractive pieces ... Worth considering. Sheet Music Spring 2004 Most of the pieces have catchy tunes and are well written for the piano. This volume is well worth exploring. MMA Ensemble January 04 The first book to catch my eye was another winner from the Oxford Piano Method. Piano Time Going Places by Pauline Hall and Korky Paul contains clever pieces and illustrations to match, which really tickle the imagination ... Furthermore, there were some excellent teaching pieces, for example 'Hong Kong Ferry', which uses the pentatonic scale, or 'Flanagan's Jig' by Alan Haughton, in six-eight time. An added bonus is that the titles and pictures of many pieces in the book also provide plenty of inspiration for pupils to develop their own improvisations. All in all just the sort of music children love to play. Sally Chappell, Piano Professional Jan 2004
