Author Biography: Henri Lefebvre was born in 1901 and died in 1991. He was a member of the French Communist Party until his expulsion in 1957. He published more than sixty books, from Le nationalisme contre les nations (1937) to La rythmanalyse (1992). The most recent English translations of his work include The Production of Space (1990) and Critique of Everyday Life (1991).
