SURE Teacher’s Book, written by well-known teachers and international teacher trainers such as Terry Prosser and Sarah Seven, is packed with fresh, practical ideas and activities that really provide support and guidance for every lesson. It also includes a DVD with videos consisting of presentation and communication dramas, documentaries and voxpops.

SURE Testbuilder CD-ROM includes specially developed Basic, Progress Plus and Exams Tests providing support for teachers to effectively evaluate student progress.

SURE start is designed to motivate, create interest and set up the theme with questionnaires and thought-provoking tasks.
It reviews and extends previously learnt language in new contexts and invites students to give opinions, think about themselves and use language creatively.
Lively vocabulary
Regular, reliable and lively vocabulary work means that students find the right words and enjoy learning them. Focus ranges from core lexical sets, key words and lexical chunks in Word expander to everyday expressions in Small talk.
Small talk
Small talk focuses on common spoken interactional expressions, essential for natural communication and comprehension, including idiomatic expressions used by teenagers and young adults, reflecting up-to-date language use.
Communication focus
Language is for communicating and SURE puts communication at the heart of the lesson with videos consisting of presentation and communication dramas, documentaries and vox pops. Communicative competences become easy to learn with entertaining dual-function video/audio presentations, and lots of meaningful interactive practice. Natural language and authentic contexts are guaranteed. Core phrases provide essential expressions to help students communicate effectively. It can also be used as a reference section.
Brush up, move on
SURE activates the language students already know so they can brush up their knowledge and move on.
Elementary begins with a motivating review of A1 language; Pre‐Intermediate starts with a confidence‐boosting brush up of core A2 grammar. At Intermediate students brush up core language in order to move on into the B2 arena.
Heads-up grammar
In SURE, students actively engage with grammar from the very beginning using strong contexts showing grammar in action with clear rules of use. Heads-up learning moves students on from an essential grounding in grammar to using the target structures in intensive grammar-oriented skills exercises designed to get them reading, listening, speaking and writing. This work helps lead them to genuine language acquisition.

Culture dossier and CLIL
An in‐depth section with six themes - heritage, identity, rituals, entertainment, society and icons - to give students a project‐based opportunity to explore crucial global topics thereby developing critical-thinking skills. From science and technology to music and art, SURE helps teachers and students train for CLIL by developing core competences using its range of content‐rich, topic‐based themes and activities in both the main units and Culture.
Bonus Grammar
Teachers can tailor their teaching to the needs of the students with optional grammar points in Bonus Grammar at Beginner, Elementary and Pre-Intermediate level. Specially chosen after extensive research, these exercises reflect extra grammar points teachers most frequently choose to add.
Pinboard
Unique to SURE, Pinboard is a moment for students to just relax and have fun with English. No exercises, no task, just puzzles, intriguing facts, How to… boxes, quotes and cartoons - pure entertainment!
Check your progress
At the end of the module there is an easy-to-mark Check your progress test which allows students to informally assess their progress. The test is presented in four sections, each categorised by a specific CEFR descriptor, allowing students to take ownership of their language proficiency.
CEFR & Exam training
SURE systematically covers the functional objectives of the CEFR and prepares students for international exams right from the start.
Exam-friendly exercises are marked with K (Cambridge KEY), P (Cambridge Preliminary) or F (Cambridge First) or T for a range of Trinity exams.
Skills
The Skills forum recycles both the language of the current module and that of previous modules, while further developing the theme. Each module contains a skills lesson which focuses on the development of the four skills. The skills are usually integrated: reading texts and listening activities (language comprehension) are followed by speaking and writing tasks (language production). A variety of exercise types help students prepare for international exams.
Accuracy
Accuracy is at the heart of effective language use. In SURE Focus on Accuracy, students are provided with the opportunity to get it right. These spreads recycle all the language students have studied up to this point. By refreshing and reviewing their knowledge, students sharpen their accuracy – a must for exams.
Fluency
Language users need to be able to speak fluently and confidently and SURE builds this into the course. Regular Focus on Fluency spreads develop students’ confidence through challenging and involving activities. SURE really allows language acquisition to happens naturally. By using SURE, students learn to get their message across effectively.
