DESCRIPTION: This is an all-inclusive instrument for the study of British and American literature from its origins to the present day. All the most important authors are present, with highly representative excerpts and helpful bibliographical information. Each excerpt is also equipped with a full glossary and a series of exercises to test and stimulate further understanding. Each major period of history is described with regard to historical, social and literary developments, which permit the students to place the literary excerpts into a larger context.
