Description: C21 can be used in a number of ways, depending on whether you prefer printed or digital resources. Both the Course Book and Teacher’s Book have printed and digital versions and the Workbook is available for LMS (we can host it for you if you don’t have your own LMS), or as a printed edition.

Course Book is at the heart of C21 – with beautifully designed pages providing rich material and engaging activities. C21 skills (a combination of academic and 21st century skills) are integrated into every spread and are introduced in a way that makes them accessible from A1 level. A new skill is introduced in each section of the book, with five skills per unit and 30 skills in total per level.There are four pages of material in each unit that encourage learners to explore the skills area and put new ideas into practice. The overall aim is for students to take responsibility for their own learning and develop a wide range of skills that can be applied to their everyday life at home, at college or school, and at work.

Level-appropriate skills
Throughout C21, all skills are level-appropriate, making them accessible from the beginning of the course, with
students introduced to basic study skills, classroom language, and a proactive, self-refl ective approach to learning
and class interaction. This ensures that students are not just passive recipients of language, but active communicators
responsible for their own language acquisition and development.

Student-centred activities
The activity types within each lesson of C21 put students at the centre of the learning process and encourage them to
use their own ideas and opinions, and to apply their own critical thinking to texts and tasks. Activities also encourage
and support collaboration through pairwork and group work.
