The book of stories by the winner of international awards, Kharkov writer Andrey Krasnyashchikh was written under Russian bombs falling on Kharkov and then in neighboring Poltava, where there are more migrants than local residents. What was seen, heard, experienced, the history of everyday life during wartime. One of the heroines of the stories is the writer's ten-year-old daughter, whose school essay "How my life changed with the coming of the war" formulates the main theme of the entire book. The narrator describes how the war changed everything and everyone: himself, his daughter who suddenly matured, turned from a child into a teenager, habits, feelings, people's attitudes towards each other, which became more caring, protective.
