Le narrateur, Timothée, renvoyé dans ses pénates par sa soeur ado dédaigneuse, arrache de dépit le papier peint... et découvre un passage secret par lequel il débouche, en pyjama, sur un rocher perdu en plein océan. Il s'aperēoit vite qu'il n'est pas seul : une passerelle mčne ą un phare vertigineux, dans lequel vit Morgan, jeune homme idéaliste chassé de son archipel paradisiaque par un traītre ą son peuple. L'amitié entre les deux garēons est immédiate. Morgan, le fils de l'océan, fait le récit en plusieurs flash-backs du monde merveilleux d'oł il vient, l'Orléande, oł l'on célčbre l'équinoxe dans une fantastique Fźte des Licornes. Un monde en danger toutefois, qu'il doit absolument rejoindre avant qu'il ne soit trop tard. Mais le terrifiant dodécapus, pieuvre ą 12 tentacules, veille au pied du phare... Timothée, par son ingéniosité et son courage, trouvera le moyen d'aider Morgan ą se sauver du phare, pour aller sauver son peuple ! The narrator, Timothée, sent home by his disdainful teenage sister, tears off the wallpaper in frustration... and discovers a secret passage through which he emerges, in his pajamas, onto a rock lost in the middle of the ocean. He quickly realizes he is not alone: a footbridge leads to a dizzying lighthouse, where Morgan lives, an idealistic young man driven from his paradise archipelago by a traitor to his people. The friendship between the two boys is immediate. Morgan, the son of the ocean, tells the story in several flashbacks of the wonderful world he comes from, Orléande, where the equinox is celebrated in a fantastic Festival of Unicorns. A world in danger, however, that he absolutely must reach before it is too late. But the terrifying dodecapus, an octopus with 12 tentacles, watches over the foot of the lighthouse... Timothée, through his ingenuity and courage, will find a way to help Morgan escape from the lighthouse and save his people!
