Author Biography:
Irish-born Oscar Wilde (1854-1900), notorious for his flamboyant and unorthodox lifestyle, is best remembered for the theatrical masterpiece, The Importance of Being Earnest. Peter Ackroyd began his literary career as a poet before moving into fiction. His recent masterpieces include London: The Biography, and biographies of Wilde, Dickens and T.S. Eliot amongst others.
